Kelleigh Bannen’s ‘Cheap Sunglasses’ is the EP of the Summer

This Nashville Life
tastemaker Kelleigh Bannen released her new EP Cheap Sunglasses last week to iTunes and Spotify. Trust us when we say that if you don’t know her name yet, that needs to change.

An edgy fashionista with an unreal voice and girl-next-door sincerity, Bannen is starting to turn heads in the industry. Her new project consists of five tracks: “Welcome to the Party,” “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Once Upon A,” “All Good Things,” and the ever-so-catchy “Landlocked,” which is a perfect summer jam.

The title track (and our personal favorite), “Cheap Sunglasses,” is an infection tune about not wanting to be easily tossed to the side by a man. “I’m not gonna be your cheap sunglasses. Just a summer thing ‘til it falls out of fashion, so easy to break, just throw away. Whatever happens, happens… I’m not gonna be your cheap sunglasses,” she sings in the chorus.

“This project really pushed me out of my comfort zone and into my sweet spot,” Kelleigh said in a press release.

Chicago was just graced with Bannen’s presence at Lake Shake Festival, where she played songs off of this new EP and kept the crowd entertained with her captivating stage presence.

Bannen has also been busy recording and touring with fellow CMT “Next Women of Country” artists, Natalie Stovall and Ruthie Collins for the “3 Girls Rock Into A Bar” tour.
