One of country’s hottest newcomers, North Carolina native Chris Lane, will be opening up Dustin Lynch‘s Hell of a Night tour at our very own Joe’s Bar this Thursday and Friday (January 7th and 8th).
Lane’s current single, “Fix,” has gained shoutouts from Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge, Billboard.com and more, and recently broke the record for the most single week adds from a debut male artist in Country Aircheck history.
The singer/songwriter’s high energy stage presence coupled with his killer falsetto and ear-catching melodies will be the perfect way to get the sold out Chicago crowds pumped up and ready to party.
Have a listen to the pop-country jam and check out our interview with Chris below.
Chicagoland Country (CLC): Your single “Fix” recently became one of the most shared tracks on Twitter. In your own words, what is the song about?
Chris Lane: It’s about being that fix for someone. Maybe it’s a guilty pleasure or just being addicted to that person. The song is letting them know you have what they need. I think we have all been there and had that person you didn’t think you could live without.
CLC: You are currently on tour with Dustin Lynch. What is your
favorite part about being on the road?
Chris Lane: Right now, one of my favorite things to do in whatever city I’m in, is to find a local gym so me and the guys can go play basketball. We love the competition and all the friendly trash-talking that goes along with it. But on a serious note, this tour has been great. Dustin is a class act and I am very thankful for how he has taken care of all of us on the road.
CLC: Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Chris Lane: We have a pre-show playlist that we put on and have a little dance party just to get the blood flowing and make sure we are hyped to take the stage. Right before we hit the stage we always say a quick prayer too.
CLC: Are you excited to be playing Joe’s Bar this weekend and have you played in Chicago before?
Chris Lane: I have played Joe’s before and it is one of the best venues in the country. I always look forward to coming back to Joe’s because they always take good care of us. I love Chicago. It has become one of my favorite cities and I always have to find me some pizza while I’m in town. Right now, I’m on a Lou Malnati’s kick.
CLC: You accomplished so much last year. What are your goals for 2016?
Chris Lane: I was very blessed in 2015. I put out my first single to Country radio and released my EP so it’s been exciting. Now, I just want to continue to push my music out there, play for as many people I can, and pick up as many new fans along the way and keep rockin’ through 2016!
